HP DeskJet 3632 Printer Reviews– Printers aren’t much cheaper than this. The HP Deskjet 3632 has a £40 PVP with VAT included and Amazon is currently doing it for £35.

We know what you’re thinking: cheaply means expensive ink printers. Does that apply here? The answer is yes, but also not, because it is an instant ink printer. That means you can pay a monthly ink subscription and drastically reduce the cost of cartridges. But should you consider the Deskjet 3632 for something other than occasional use? Is instant Ink a good value for money? Let’s find out.

Installation and Specifications

It doesn’t need touch screens or automatic double-sided printing at this price, and the plastic feels very weak, especially the Outbox. But you can forgive the look, because HP offers you many functions for forty pounds.

The Deskjet can print, copy and Scan, and the ubiquitous USB connection that supports HP EPrint, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct networks. The last option means that you can print wireless devices if you do not have a wireless router. Ink: The 3632 is shipped with startup cartridges, so you must replace them after approximately 100 pages.

The lack of a touch screen means you have to configure the Wi-Fi through the supplied disk (free from 123.hp.com), which is simple enough: it’s just a matter of the application of the printer network. should use. The application is available for Mac and Windows, and downloads the required drivers and software utilities Once the connection is established.

There is a 60-sheet input tray and a 25-sheet output tray with standard paper support (up to 90 g/m²), HP cards, and HP photo papers (300 g/m²); If you are printing on photographic paper, the prints have no edges, and in A4 the margins are 3 mm. The print quality is up to 1200 x 1200, with an effective 4800 x 1200 If you are printing on specific HP photographic papers and your source is 1200 dpi. The scanner is 1200 dpi and the photocopies offer 600 x 300 dpi.

The Deskjet 3632 is designed for people with modest needs: the recommended volume is 250 sheets per month.

Performance and operating costs.

As you might expect from a low-cost printer, the Deskjet is not the fastest inkjet ever. The official ISO speeds are 8.5 ppm in black and 6ppm in color, although the draft mode accelerates to 20ppm for black. You can get the first page in about 14 seconds. There is a quiet mode that makes the printer slower and slightly quieter, but I didn’t find the normal mode to be particularly noisy.

The Deskjet 3632 takes the HP 302 black and HP 302 tricolor cartridges, which cost £11.99 and £13.99 respectively. The black cartridge delivers 190 pages and 165 color, so you are paying 6.3 p per page in black and 8.5 p per page in color. Like other three-color cartridges, you must replace the entire cartridge when one of the colors is exhausted.

Operating costs are quite low with standard cartridges, but printers are also compatible with HP XL cartridges, which cost £19.99 for black and £22.00 for color. XL cartridges offer 480 pages of black and 330, which function as 4.2 p per page and 6.7 p respectively. That’s still pretty expensive for the black, but it’s not bad for the color.

There’s another option, and it’s called Instant ink. HP Instant Ink is a subscription service based on usage, and costs £1.99 per month for up to 50 pages, £3.49 for 100 pages and £7.99 for 300 pages. HP estimates it will save you between £78 and £516 in ink costs compared to buying standard cartridges when you need them.

Be? Instant Ink reduces costs per page to the lowest plan and 2.6 p in the £7.99 plan, but of course it is only saving money if you use the entire page assignment. You can pass unused pages in the same way as unused mobile phones, subject to limits: You can spend more than 50 pages on the cheapest plan, increasing to 100 and 300 in the most expensive plans. If you are sure you will use the assignment, it is clearly better than buying cartridges when they are exhausted.
